FOUR Daventry schools received sporting equipment from Tesco last week in a presentation made at the town’s store.
Braunston Junior School, Ashby Fields Primary School, St James Infant School and the Abbey Junior School were the lucky ones picked out by Tesco to receive goodie bags and a talk at Tesco on Friday.
The schools had been collecting vouchers for schools given out by Tesco and collected by parents with every £10 they spent in the store.
The headteacher and two pupils from each school attended the event where skipping ropes, balls and metal detectors were among the things given out by store manager Graham Larner.
Helping to organise the event, checkout manager Louise Goodridge said: “It was nice of the schools to come so that we can see where the equipment goes.
“We do quite a lot of different things for the community and try to support them and schools as much as we can.”
The schools have had more sports equipment delivered directly to them thanks to the scheme which runs annually across the country.
