A FOOTPATH will be built in the town to help improve access to the Country Park.
Northamptonshire County Council said that following “several requests from members of the public” a new section of path will be built to help link the park to Wimborne Place.
The route has long been a problem for people wanting to get in and out of the park, particularly when the weather is bad.
A spokesman for the council said: “The existing verge along this section is well used by pedestrians and can become very muddy in the winter months.
“After speaking to members of the public using this route the general opinion was that taking the footway to the existing island at the roundabout and using this as the crossing pint would be the best option.
“This will also give pedestrians the maximum visibility of approaching traffic and will also link with other footways in the area.”
