THE Conservatives have retained control of Daventry District Council (DDC) despite gains from Labour.

There are 29 Conservative councillors on the new look DDC with six Labour councillors and one Liberal Democrat. Among the surprise results saw long standing councillors Gloria Edwards-Davidson, Colin Poole and Annette Dunn voted off their respective seats.
