Election for Daventry town council

AN ELECTION is taking place tomorrow (Thursday) for a seat on Daventry Town Council.

The seat on the Abbey North ward will be contested by Julie Wesley of Livingstone Road and Ted Nicholl of Staverton Road with the former looking to enhance the town.

Mrs Wesley said: “I think Daventry is a great place to live, I want to do my best to look after the best of Daventry and at the same time see any growth enhancing the town for both the old and new residents.

“I would love to see a thriving town centre, a thriving community spirit in the town and within our communities.”

Mr Nicholl is looking to do something constructive.

He said: “I have lived in Daventry for ten years, although my wife’s family have lived here for much longer.

“I, like a lot of people in the town, have moaned about the various councils, the lack of consultation with the town about developments that affect the town and the limited, lack of, or lost amenities.

“I thought it was about time to stop moaning and try to do something constructive.”

Polling cards have been sent out to people eligible to vote on where the nearest election venue is.
