The Priors School gets free status

A VILLAGE primary school has officially been told it will be one of England’s 24 new free schools when the term begin next week.

The Priors School, in Priors Marston, has been run independently for the past 15 years and currently has to raise around £150,000 annually just to survive.

Gaining free school status will see it receive around £2,700 for each pupil who attends from September, and the school’s name will also change to Priors Free School.
