PUPILS at schools across the Daventry district have been jumping for joy when they opened their GCSE results this morning (Thursday, August 25).
In Daventry, 58 per cent of youngsters at Danetre School achieved at least five GCSEs at A* to C including English and maths.
More than half of pupils at William Parker School got either five or more A* to C grades.
Success was not just limited to the town as both secondary schools in the Daventry area got high marks. A total of 88 per cent of pupils at Guilsborough School got either five A* to C grades while 70 per cent got five or more A* to C grades including English and maths.
Campion School in Bugbrooke achieved the best overall results in its history. 66 per cent of pupils got five or more A* to C including English and maths while the overall pass rate of five or more A* to C grades was 84 per cent.
