Schools in Daventry area share in £500,000

HEADTEACHERS in the Daventry area have welcomed the news that their schools are receiving more than a half a million pound cash injection.

The Government has revealed that 28 of the schools out of 44 in the Daventry district will receive more money through the Pupil Premium scheme which is designed to help children from deprived backgrounds. It enables schools to get nearly £500 for every pupil who claims a free school meal.

The biggest beneficiary is the Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village which comprises of the estate’s infant and junior schools alongside the comprehensive.
