More than 6,000 places were allotted to pupils set to start secondary school in September on Friday last week.
Cllr Andrew Grant is cabinet member of children, learning and skills at Northamptonshire County Council. He said: “We work hard to ensure pupils are allocated to one of their preferred schools wherever possible. Early figures show that 98.6 per cent have been allocated one of their first three preferences, with 85 per cent getting their first choice. For anyone unhappy with the place their child has been allocated, there is an independent appeals process.”
