A TEDDY bears’ picnic themed activity day was held in Daventry on Friday.
The Breast Feeding Support Service organised a special activity session at the town’s Methodist Church as part of Breast Feeding Awareness Week.
Senior locality worker at SureStart Daventry East Rose Shipley said: “We put on the party to promote breastfeeding and to let people know about the support groups we have in the area.
“Around 45 to 50 families came along and we had crafts and games for the children, and a bouncy castle as well.
“The peer support workers had put the word out and we had some new faces coming along which was good.
“And there was also a few dads as well.
“I’d like to thank all the businesses who donated prizes.”
The event also raised £250 to buy new equipment which can be loaned by the support service.
