A RECENTLY formed acoustic duo will be performing their first gig at the Roadmender in Northampton tomorrow (Friday) night.
Joe Paterson from Newnham and Dan Johnson from Towcester, both 17, formed Where the Redfern Grows last month.
They will be playing covers versions of artists including Paolo Nutini, Aloe Blacc and It Bites. Joe will play the acoustic bass while Dan plays the acoustic guitar and they hope to expand into a band in the future and play their own songs and use instruments such as mandolins and ukuleles.
The two met at Sponne School in Towcester and both have plenty of experience playing in bands and performing.
The duo are billed alongside Mother Mary - an indie band from Northampton. Both acts will be supporting Northampton-based acoustic duo Apollo’s Mob, who won this year’s Unsigned Fest.
Doors open at 7.15pm with Where the Redfern Grows opening at 7.30pm. The night ends at 10pm. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought on the door or reserved by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
