A YOUNG dog is making a recovery after being stabbed 13 times and left to die in the street.
Five-year-old border collie Bonnie was found in Stanley Way in Daventry with the sickening injuries last week. She was rescued by RSPCA workers and was given emergency surgery for the life-threatening injuries.
She has since spent a week at the vets and is now at the RSPCA’s Woodside Animal Centre in Leicester, where she is beginning to recover from the savage attack.
Lisa Smith, the centre manager, who said it was one of the worst attacks she had seen, is now seeking a new owner for Bonnie.
“She’s still a bit traumatised and she’s not been eating properly, but it’s not surprising as she’s been through such an ordeal,” she said.
