THE controversial HS2 development could be delayed until 2030 because of ‘dither and delay’ by ministers.
The plans to build a high speed rail link between London and Birmingham would affect homes in Chipping Warden, Boddington and Aston le Walls. The £33 billion project was originally due to be completed by 2026.
Lord Adonis, who got the HS2 project under way while he was the transport secretary, fears the necessary legislation will not be in place in time to complete the scheme before 2026.
Current Transport Secretary Justine Greening gave HS2 the go ahead in January, despite opposition from residents to the plans.
