A woman from Daventry is appealing for help from businesses in a bid to raise funds to help build a primary school in Africa.

Leonie Eaton, 29, who works at DHL on the Heartlands Business Park, is organising the DHL Charity Football Match which will take place at Rugby Town Football Club next month.

The five-a-side football match will see a number of teams playing against each other.

There will be a guess the teddy bear name draw and a raffle with prizes including tickets to see Northampton Saints, Love2Shop vouchers and alcohol.

Leonie said: “It is the first event I have organised like this but the great thing is that DHL has said it will match what we raise on the day,

“I am looking for some extra raffle prizes for the event and hope businesses can come along, promote themselves on the day by handing out cards and in return can give us a prize for the raffle.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 18 and runs from noon to 4pm at the venue on Butlin Road. Leonie added: “The charity is called Little Faces and is raising money to help children aged three to eight in Mombasa, Kenya achieve a reasonable education to help them build a state school giving the children the chance of a better future.”

Anybody who can donate a raffle prize can call Leonie on 01327 304120 or email leaton@hankooktyres.co.uk.
