A delicate dress made of cut paper has been created by a Daventry woman goes on display from tomorrow (Tuesday June 16).

Stella Batten, who lives on the Grange estate, spent 166 hours researching the art, drawing it, cutting it out, and stitching the paper together to create the dress.

The dress was created as her final piece of work for a Btec extended diploma in art and design she has been working on at Northampton College in Daventry – the dress earned her three distinctions.

Stella said: “I would like to thank the tutors of Northampton college in Daventry they have been fantastic and are very supportive and have certainly taught us so much!”

Stella started her course at the college after going along to a taster day as part of the Daventry Arts Festival.

The dress is on display in the atrium at Northampton College in Daventry’s Badby Road West from Tuesday June 16 to Wednesday June 24 from 9am to 5pm and at an open event at the college on Tuesday June 23 from 5pm to 7.30pm.
