A mental health group which uses gardening to help people welcomed Daventry’s mayor at the weekend.

The Mayor of Daventry Cllr Glenda Simmons attended an open day at Green Health located at the Daneholme Allotment site in Daventry.

Green Health is a project aiming to help people suffering with their mental health, and is just one of three community projects currently taking place on allotments in Daventry.

Allotments provide many therapeutic benefits which are especially helpful for people suffering with their mental health and Daventry Town Council, which runs the allotments in the town, is keen to hear from any other Daventry community organisations whose members would benefit from having an allotment.

If you are over 18 and a Daventry resident, you can apply to Daventry Town Council to have an allotment on one of four Daventry sites. For further details, call 01327 301246 or email admin@daventrytowncouncil.gov.uk.
