A magician from Daventry is to feature on a BBC One programme later this month.

Anthony Hanna, who lives on the Middlemore estate, will appear on the Saturday night show Now You See It under his stage name Vincent Baptiste.

There will be a clip of him performing a trick on the show to be broadcast on Saturday April 11, the last show of the series.

He said: “It started off with myself doing videos on Facebook of me just doing magic tricks.

“I then saw the show on the BBC because I had always been interested in magic and while I was watching I saw the chance to send some videos in.”

He sent in five videos to the BBC and they came back confirming they wanted to broadcast one of them.

Anthony added: “It is all handled by my daughter and my son in law, so they had the email to say they wanted to use the video.

“I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a wind up. However it wasn’t and it is a big thing, I was really happy.”

He has plans for the broadcast as well.

“I have been given £250 for the screening of the clip and I am going to have friends and family round.

“I am going to treat them to whatever takeaway they want for the night.”
