Daventry cyclist dies following collision

A cyclist from Daventry who was seriously injured in a collision earlier this month has died.

The collision happened shortly before 5pm on Thursday, May 7, in Prospect Way on the town’s Royal Oak Industrial Estate, when the cyclist was involved in a crash with a silver Nissan Skyline GT-R.

The cyclist, a 28-year-old man from Daventry, was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries, where he sadly passed away on Monday evening (May 18).

At the time of the incident police said a 24-year-old man from Daventry had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
