Council director leaves job as efficiency drive begins

DAVENTRY District Council (DDC) executive Judy Gregory has left her post with immediate effect.

The move comes after the council announced last month it would cut its board of directors from three to two to save a salary of £80,856.

Ian Vincent has been confirmed as managing director on a permanent basis and Simon Bovey has been given the role of director.

DDC leader Chris Millar said: “Since joining the council in 1987 Judy has played an important part in DDC’s success and we are very grateful for the excellent qualities and leadership skills she has demonstrated to improve our services.

“With DDC facing significant cuts in its Government funding the need to find savings as quickly as we can means we have no choice but to look at the structure of the organisation from top to bottom.”
