AN INFORMATION day was held in Daventry to make people aware of the services available to carers and disabled people.
A range of organisations set up stalls at the event, which was held in the Saxon Suite in Daventry Leisure Centre.
Zoe White, secretary for the disability forum for Daventry District Council, said: “The aim was to make people aware of all the different organisations which offer support in the area.
“There were lots of groups here from visually impaired to Age UK and DACT to Multiple Sclerosis charities.
“The turnout was fantastic, much better than I expected. Within the first hour we had 70 people come in. There’s definitely a need for these organisations and I think that need is continuing to grow.”
