The chairman of Daventry District Council alongsid representatives from the Friends of Danetre Hospital will be collecting money for charity today (Thursday)
Cllr Chris Long will be attending Towcester races in order to collect money for the charity which supports Danetre Hospital.
This will be the third event in the chairman’s year where collections have been taken with a total of £600 having been collected to date.
Anyone attending the race day from Daventry district is invited to make themselves known to Cllr Long.
In a further bid to boost funds for the charity, a series of street collections will be helde in Daventry town centre on both Saturday November 16 and Saturday November 23.
Cllr Long said: “Anyone reading the current articles in the Daventry Express regarding Danetre Hospital and its services will understand just how important it is to show their support for the hospital at this present time.
“Should anyone wish to offer help or make a donation either, will be gratefully received.”
Cllr Long was sworn in as chairman of Daventry District Council in May and decided to support the Friends of Danetre Hospital as his chosen charity for the year.
