AN OLYMPIC-themed arts and crafts event took place at Daventry Leisure Centre.

The three-day course began on Wednesday last week and more than 20 children signed up for each day.

The half-term activity aimed to help children get creative with a sporty twist.

Daventry Active Ltd sports co-ordinator Alex le Guevel ran the classes.

He said: “With the Olympics coming up in London later this year we thought it would be good to do things like mascot and flag designs in the art sessions.

“When everything’s finished we will put the designs on display in the leisure centre.”
