TODDLERS in West Haddon will finally have a preschool they can call home after work began on their new building.
The children have been based at West Haddon Village Hall since the 1950s where they are forced to work around other groups who share the premises.
But the first bricks have now been laid at their new £220,000 home after a massive fundraising effort and a cash boost from the district and county councils.
The new building is on the grounds of West Haddon Primary School and Ros Britton, chairman of the preschool committee, said: “Having a new home means we will be able to increase our sessions.
“The idea is that within two or three years we will be able to open every day until 3pm meaning we can provide a better service to the community.”
