A NEW member of staff has started work at a Daventry charity shop after a coffee morning was set up to encourage volunteers.

The Salvation Army, in Bowen Square, arranged the event this week as it is seeking to attract a number of new volunteers to help out at the shop.

The event was attended by Ann Dunn, who signed up as the latest volunteer, but the shop is still looking for more people to come forward and help.

Store manager Kellie Hodgett said: “We are looking forward to working with Ann but it would have been nice to have a few more people come along.

“We are still on the look out and if people want to volunteer they can pop into the shop and have a chat with me about which hours they can do and things like that.

“We are ideally looking for people with retail experience but it’s not essential.

“If people without experience are interested then full training will be provided.”
