Model and actress Patsy Kensit and former Wham singer Andrew Ridgley will be the star names opening up a village fete this year.
The duo open the St Leonard’s Church Fete which takes place on Saturday. The event will be held in the grounds of The Manor in Priors Marston.
It is a return for Ms Kensit who opened the fete last year and the organising committee behind this year’s event are planning an event even bigger than last year’s.
The 45-year-old actress who has had roles in films including Lethal Weapon 2 and in television series including Emmerdale and Holby City.
For Mr Ridgley, he makes up one half of the pop duo Wham. Alongside George Michael, the group wrote and recorded a number of hits including Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and “Careless Whisper.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meander their way around the courtyard, garden and grounds while browsing the wide range of stalls showcasing the wide range of locally produced quality food and drink products.
There will be opportunities to taste and to buy the produce and to attend presentations and demonstrations. There will also be a wide range of craft stalls as well as activities for children.
The Priors Marston Country Fete will be a fun day for all of the family with games, bouncy castle, fancy dress, music, a pig roast, burgers, sausages and pizzas, Pimms, wine and beer, cream teas and ice creams and much, much more.
One of the organisers, Simon Brown, said: “The owners of the house know Patsy and Andrew and they were able to ask them if they would like to do it and both of them said yes which we are delighted about.
“I think these both Patsy and Andrew have the perfect profile for the kind of people that we want to attract to the event.”
Entrance to the event is £3 for adults, £1.50 for children aged between five and 16 and free for under fives. Family tickets, regardless of size is £9. It will run from 12.30pm to 5pm. The money from the event will go towards funds for St Leonard’s Church in Priors Marston.
