A FASHION show aimed at raising funds to save the Holy Cross Church will take place in July.
Daventry Court Hotel (formerly the Barceló) will host the event on Friday, July 8.
The church needs to raise £129,000 before the end of the year to secure a £197,000 grant being offered by English Heritage.
The Holy Cross has been placed at risk because of the poor condition of its upper level stonework and balustrading.
So far just over £8,000 has been raised and it’s hoped the fashion show can be one of the key fundraising events for the year.
Secretary of the church’s building fund Steve Challen said: “Over 50 lines of ladies clothing from Next, Marks and Spencer, Wallis and more will be modelled and for sale on the night at discounted prices.
“Complementing the fashion show will be a number of other sellers offering fashion handbags and jewellery
“There will also be demonstrations of beauty products and treatments on offer at the hotel.
“A raffle will be held on the night with a number of generous prizes having been donated by the hotel and other local businesses including free hair beauty and health treatments and Daventry Court Hotel health club memberships.”
Tickets for the show will cost £5 which includes the first drink.
Senior event manager at the Daventry Court Hotel Laura Goodland said: “We are delighted to have been approached to host and sponsor such an event and are fully committed to ensuring its success alongside the fundraising committee. It’s a great opportunity for the ladies in the local community to get together for a fun evening.”
