Canons Ashby House was featured on the BBC programme Countryfile on Sunday night.
Julia Bradbury and the team from the programme filmed a story about the house’s possible masonic connections.
The whole edition was featured from across Northamptonshire with items on the Grand Union Canal and the Triangular Lodge in Rushden.
Speaking about the filming which ttook place last month, visitor experience and community manager Laura Malpas said: “We were all fascinated to discover the secret chamber hidden inside the cupboard in the servants’ hall, and so it seems is the rest of the world! We have received enquiries from as far away as Egypt, Germany and the USA.
“Julia was fascinated to learn all about our mysterious room with the symbols and crests painted all over the panelling, and climbed into the cupboard to see the secret chamber.
