CHEEKY footballers in Weedon are baring ‘almost’ all for a Domestic Gods 2013 calendar.
Daring members of the Weedon Football Club have taken part in the photo shoot - with the money raised from the calendar going back into the club’s funds.
Over 12 months the calendar shows the team members, aged between 18 and 36, swap their usual studded boots and football kits for aprons, frills and strategically placed garden implements.
The men, who can usually be seen running around the pitch are instead adopting more unusual poses around the house.
Team manager, Danny Chapman (Mr April), said: “Shooting the calendar was pretty much one of the funniest days I have had in a long time - it was just hilarious.
“The reason we decided on a naked shoot was because it’s quite funny and it was a bonding exercise for the team.”
The shoot took place in some team members’ homes as well as in outdoor locations around the Weedon village, and all proceeds from the calendar sales will be going back to the club.
The team’s football can be seen in the background of every shot as a reminder of the cause.
Mr Chapman said: “It’s just a giggle. The photos are of the lads in nick-nacks doing loads of different domestic chores like cooking and gardening.”
The calendars are now available to order and will be delivered between December 10 and 15, in time for Christmas.
Danny said: “We have printed 150 so far but will print more if the calendars are popular in the village and loads of people order them.”
The calenders cost £10 each and can be purchased from Weedon pub Plume of Feathers on West Street or through the Weedon Football Club facebook page at www.facebook.com/weedon.fc.
Orders can also be made by emailing email@example.com or by contacting Alison Gardener on 07854063832.
