THE Evergreen Art Café in Daventry is running a Christmas card art competition in aid of a children’s charity based in the town.

Youngsters aged between four and 13 can enter the competition which is designed to be based around the work of artist Peter Smith.

The winning design will be picked by the artist and the cards will be printed with all the proceeds from sales donated to Pete Spencer’s Helping Hands Memorial Fund.

The café’s owner Simon Williams said: “I’m definitely looking forward to it, I saw how successful the event was last year and we loved to support the charity.

“This competition is all about making art more accessible and to get children involved in art.”

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, October 31 and they can be posted at a drop box in Waitrose in Daventry or dropped into the café in Sheaf Street. People are asked to put contact details on the back.

The winning cards will be on sale from Monday, November 12. For more details, call the café on 01327 878117.
