Reservoir work gets under way
A £10 MILLION project to secure shoreline at the reservoir which provides water to homes in Daventry is under way.
Work to protect the shorelines of three of Anglian Water’s reservoirs from erosion, using a porous black matting, has started at Pitsford as well as at Grafham in Cambridgeshire. Work at Rutland Reservoir is also set to start soon.
Kevin Appleton, Anglian Water’s visitor operations manager, said: “This is an important project across a number of reservoirs to ensure they remain in good condition for us all to enjoy.” The wave-action caused by wind has resulted in some undercutting of embankments which has caused collapses on some banks.
