Eco centre shows green technology

A new centre showcasing renewable and sustainable energy technology has been opened at a firm’s premises in Daventry.

The TBS Eco Centre aims to show the various forms of technology available for new builds and redevelopments, which can reduce energy bills and improve their green credentials.

Housed at TBS Building Supplies based on Daventry’s Marches industrial estate, the Eco Centre showroom has working examples of a wind turbine, under-floor heating, air source heat pumps, solar thermal and solar PV systems, wood pellet and wood log boilers and other renewable energy technology. With a selection of products from brands such as Knauf, Kensa, Joule, Trianco and Aermec and staff to help with advice on how renewables can be used by anyone.

The centre was officially opened on January 28, the same day the Government launched its Green Deal, which offers financial backing to anyone interested in making home improvements, which reduce energy use.

David Matthews, chairman of the Ground Source Heat Pump Association, came along to officially open the new Eco Centre and offer advice regarding renewable energy incentives.
