Business workshop set up to help boost town trade

A FREE business workshop will be held in Daventry town centre next week.

Enterprise and economic development company EMB Ltd has teamed up with the Federation of Small Businesses to provide help for retailers across the county.

And the workshop will be coming to Casey’s Club in Market Square on Wednesday, January 26 from 5.30 until 8.30pm.

The main topics of the workshop will be ‘three steps to increase your shop’s turnover,’ ‘how to get your staff to make the till ring’ and ‘how to get your shop to sell its products itself.’

Stephen Smith, chief executive of EMB Ltd, said: “Evidence shows that people value a diverse high street that offers a unique shopping experience, great customer service and independent retailers.

“We know things are tough for all businesses and that the independent retail sector faces a challenging time working in an environment where supermarkets, chains and online retailers are taking a larger piece of the pie in market share year on year.

“That’s why we’re running these workshops to help local retailers make the most of their business and gain the competitive edge.”

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
