‘Bigger and better’ is the phrase being used by the organisers of two festivals in Daventry over the summer.
Daventry Motorcycle Festival returns on June 11, and the week-long Daventry Arts Festival starts on June 18 and will feature a three-day music event.
On Saturday, June 11, the towns annual Motorcycle Festival will be bigger and better than ever before and includes something for everyone with live music and ‘Mad Science’ events on the main stage.
So far there are 18 confirmed exhibitors, along with street entertainment, fairground attractions and Punch and Judy for the children.
Up to 300 bikers are predicted to take part in the ‘ride in’.
The Arts Festival returns and will coincide with the Aviva Women’s Cycle Tour passing through the town centre.
A spokesman for Daventry Town Council said: “We are pleased to announce a new era for the Daventry Arts Festival taking place on Saturday June 18 through to Sunday June 26 with a new exciting programme and opportunities for the whole community to become involved.
“The festival kicks off on Saturday, June 18 with a parade through the town centre celebrating the Summer Solstice and ends with a three-day music event.
“Other highlights also include star gazing on Borough Hill, street art, the Aviva Women’s Cycle Tour, children’s theatre along with lots of opportunities to try out new things and much, much more.
“A full programme of events will be announced soon.”
