Villagers were spoilt for choice this bank holiday Monday with activities at Everdon Village fete.
Stretching from the village green to St. Mary’s church, the fete attracted many villagers despite the weather.
Stalls and activities included skittles, a bouncy castle, children’s games, a barbecue and dog show.
A 50m teddy zip-wire proved popular showing off the newly-renovated church tower in a different light. Fete chairman, Brian Clark, said the zip-wire was exciting for both children and their grandparents watching from the ground below.
Funds raised from the day are to be split equally between the village hall and St. Mary’s church.
Mr Clark said: “It was a fantastic day and we were lucky that the rain stayed away until the last half hour, people really enjoyed it.”
With upwards of 20 stalls, the fete was manned by 50-60 volunteers to make the day a success.
Proceeds from the day are still being calculated but previous years have seen a whopping £5,000 raised.
