AN ARRAY of fun for all ages will be taking place across the bank holiday weekend throughout the Daventry district.
Everything from the region’s finest food to village fetes and railways will be available to see at the weekend.
The Long Buckby Feast on Bank Holiday Monday is the last in a series of events and runs at the Market Square between 1pm and 5pm.
There will be stalls, traditional games, local produce, information on local groups and clubs, plus the all-important ‘Feas Pudn’ competition where local people compete to make the best Long Buckby pudding.
Glorious food will be served when the Northamptonshire Food Show @ Holdenby runs on both Sunday and Monday.
It runs from 11am to 5pm at Holdenby House with great food and drink, fun and entertainment across the two days. There will also be a masterclass marquee where visitors will be able to learn culinary skills from masterchefs.
For those with a fascination for the miniature railway, Daventry Garden Railway will be having a public open day on Sunday and Monday from 11am to 5pm.
Entrance to the garden, based at 11 Grenville Close on the Southbrook estate in Daventry, costs £2 for adults and £1.50 for children and senior citizens.
There will be Everdon Fete taking place between 2pm and 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday. The star attraction will be a teddy zip wire running from the top of the church tower to the ground. This will show off the newly-refurbished church tower which cost more than £200,000 to repair.
