A YELVERTOFT man will be having his work shown alongside some of the leading watercolour artists in London next month.
Roger Griffiths’ artwork will be on display at The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours’ 200th exhibition will be on display at Mall Galleries near Trafalgar Square between Wednesday March 14 and Sunday March 25.
He has been selected from almost 900 entries to have his pieces of work.
Mr Griffiths, who is an entirely self taught watercolour artist, said: “I aim to express the underlying patterns in the landscape generated by my interest in geology and geography, but the interpretations are not intended to be fully representational.
“I find particularly interesting the landscapes in areas of transition between lowland and upland, and sea and land, with features such as hill farms marking past and present human activity, field patterns and rock outcrops.”
Admission to the event is £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for concessions and is open from 10am to 5pm daily. The exhibition will be closed at 3pm on the final day. For more information, visit www.mallgalleries.org.uk.
