Logistics giant Norbert Dentressangle has confirmed its new distribution hub in Daventry will initially create 200 jobs and provide opportunities for young apprentices.
The site, based at the former Tesco facility on the Royal Oak Industrial Estate, will be an e-commerce warehouse.
The workforce is expected to grow in size as the operation develops and the company wants to recruit apprentices aged 16 to 19 looking to start careers in the logistics sector.
Norbert Dentressangle has partnered with Northamptonshire-based Lunar Training to deliver a bespoke logistics qualification.
Lunar Training will take the apprentices through a full-time 15-week training programme prior to them beginning a one-year apprenticeship with Norbert Dentressangle. The ultimate aim is to prepare all apprentices to progress to a full-time position at the site.
Jonathan Norman, Lunar Training’s development director, said: “Our bespoke training programme will give these young apprentices the right skills to hit the ground running in their apprenticeship with Norbert Dentressangle and the opportunity to start an exciting career with one of the world’s largest logistics companies.”
The first 20 apprentices will start their training on 30 June.
