Conditions were very bright, flat and calm for three quarters of the match.

Best Bream was caught by Jake King on peg 24 at 3lb 3oz. Best Perch was caught by Rich Wills peg one at 3lb 10oz 4dr.

The winner of the match was Jake King on peg 24.

Feeding groundbait every 15 minutes, Jake managed to keep the shoal from straying but bites were not consistent until a breeze got up and gave him some ripple and tow.

He caught the best Bream prize with a 3lb 3oz specimen and he also picked up the series single best match weight prize with his 13lb 11oz 4dr weight and took second place overall in the series.

Second on the match was Rich Wills, who drew peg one at the car park end and weighed in 12lb 7oz 8dr. Among his net of fish was a perch of 3lb 10oz 4dr.

But Rich’s weight helped him secure the series title pushing Jake into second place on the league and Dave Armstrong finished third overall.

Third place for the open came from peg15 where Paul Archer’s 10lb 4oz 4dr put his travelling partner Bob Taylor into the shade on peg11 who could only muster 7lb 12dr.

The rest of the field struggled to keep the carp at bay, but this bodes well for the end of the month matches when all fish will count.
