A NEW American diner looks set to open its doors on Daventry’s High Street.
Chain restaurant Buddies Diner has applied to open a restaurant and takeaway at the old Elliots Butchers unit.
The company has restaurants around the region and specialises in American classics such as hamburgers, fries, and steaks.
The chain has applied to Daventry District Council for a change of use at the building from retail to a restaurant and takeaway.
If it gets the go ahead Buddies will be open from 11am till 11pm Monday to Fridays, 9am till 11pm on Saturdays and 9am till 9pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The business would create ten full time and eight part-time jobs.
Abbey Ross are the agent working on the plans and lead agent Robin Ungemuth said: “It’s subject to planning being granted but all being well the unit will become a Buddies Diner, which I think will be very good for the town.
“A 20-year lease has been applied for and as yet we haven’t received any objections to the plans.
“We are hoping to find out this week when it is due to go to planning.
“There is nothing else like this in Daventry so I think it will be greatly welcomed. The fact it is a 20-year lease also secures the future of the building.”
