A SPORTS day has won an award for its community impact.
The Althorp School Games won the The Umbro Community Sports Project Award at the Community Education Awards 2012.
The event, held early in the summer, gave schools from across the area the chance to compete in a day of sports themed around the Olympics in the grounds of Althorp House.
The day included the arrivial of the Olympic Flame.
The Althorp Games were among 1,600 entries for this year’s awards, which are an annual celebration of schools’ efforts to help children and young people to become positive community members.
