THERE was plenty of entertainment on offer as two events were held in villages.
A Charity Lunch and Summer Fayre took place at Bay Tree Cottage in Farthingstone while Bugbrooke Play Group held a fun day at the village hall on Saturday which included a bouncy castle, barbecue and dance as its attractions.
The lunch at Farthingstone saw live jazz, a raffle and stalls with around 250 people attending.
Funds were raised for Macmillan’s appeal to raise £1 million for a new haematology unit at Northampton General Hospital. A final total has not been revealed but the organiser’s hope to raise £5,000.
The event’s organiser Jenny Dicks said: “It was a fantastic event. There was an amazing response and wonderful enthusiasm from people.
“We have had emails from people who asking us whether this will be a regular event, which I think is a possibility.”
