A 10-year old boy was badly injured in a BMX incident in Weedon Bec, Northamptonshire.
The boy suffered a serious leg fracture after coming off his bike at high speed. An off duty paramedic was first on the scene and requested the attendance of an air ambulance.
Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) received the call shortly after 13:50 on Sunday 8th December and landed at the scene of the incident at approximately 14:05.
The boy was in a significant amount of pain and required advanced pain relief, which was given by the WNAA doctor. His fracture was splinted before he was immobilised and flown to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire for further treatment.
