Air ambulance called out to Daventry

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was called out to a motorsport event near Daventry on Sunday, March 23.

They had received reports of a 12-year old boy who was injured during a race. The crew landed in the grounds at around 5.45pm, nine minutes after leaving their base at Coventry Airport.

On arrival, the patient was being treated for a hip injury by the event’s medical team. He was given pain relief by the medical team prior to WNAA’s arrival.

The crew from WNAA provided more advanced pain relief before immobilising the patient and airlifting him to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire for further treatment.

The patient was stable throughout the flight and the crew landed at the hospital at around 6.30pm.
