A VILLAGE pub supported a local art group with a special competition.
The Romer Arms in Newnham challenged members of Badby Art Group to ‘paint the pub’, with landlords Ray and Tania Cross offering £250 to be shared as prize money between the winners and to be used to pay for an expert tutor to visit the group.
On Tuesday the group met at the pub to hear the winner announced by judge and well-known local artist Judy Davies.
First place went to Margaret Lewis, second to Pauline Bird and third to Pam Nevill.
All the paintings will remain on display at the pub and are available for sale.
The art group consists of around 12 members who meet weekly on Tuesdays in Badby Village Hall to share their experiences and skills with other artists from the village and surrounding area.
