A FANCY dress competition, dancing and games will be just some of the attractions at a medieval village fete this weekend.
The event in Welton on Saturday and Sunday (June 20 and 21) will celebrate 750 years of the church in the village and will see children dressed in medieval costume for a fancy dress competition, a grand raffle, morris dancing and games, including tug-o-war and skittles.
There will also be stalls selling items such as plants, jewellery, jams and pickles and books while Welton Women's Institute will be hosting a display of medieval dancing and supplying cake, tea and coffees. There will be a hog roast and medieval barn dance on Saturday evening at The White Horse pub in Welton. Tickets, costing £5, are available by contacting the pub on 01327 702820
The fete will be open from 10.30am-2.30pm on Saturday and from 2-4pm on Sunday.
