A SET of 10 mums have graduated as breastfeeding peer counsellors.
They all graduated from a training course at Daventry SureStart Children’s Centre at a special ceremony earlier this month.
The graduates learned about the benefits of breastfeeding and the anatomy of the breast
They are now qualified to promote and support breastfeeding and provide ongoing information to breastfeeding mums in Daventry.
Babies who are breastfed have better protection against ear and chest infections and gastro-enteritis while the mother is less likely to be at risk from ovarian and breast cancer and weaker bones later in life.
SureStart worker Emma Brown said: “We are enormously proud of them and they can help the new mothers of Daventry.”
