GOOD causes in Northamptonshire that steer young people away from drugs will once again be able to bid for police authority cash this year.
Members on the Northamptonshire Police Authority's resources committee yesterday (Tuesday) approved proposed expenditure from money that Northamptonshire Police received from the asset recovery scheme in 2008-09.
Asset recovery sees police forces receiving money from assets seized from criminals.
The total this year is more than £316,000 and £25,000 has been earmarked to help non-police-based community projects and charities.
The rest of the money will be spent as follows:
· £18,000 for the purchase of drug trace detection equipment
· £20,000 for financial investigation training
· £10,000 for third party checks
· £17,000 for additional costs arising out of Operation Landslide
· £26,475 for the funding of proactive drugs and acquisitive crime operations.
