An outline planning application to build 65 homes off Barby Lane on the edge of Kilsby is recommended for refusal.

The application will go before Daventry District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday August 12.

It is an altered version of an application refused by DDC in February

Planning officers are recommending it is refused permission, saying it lies beyond the village edge and would “affect open space which is of particular significance to the form and character of the village”.

They add that the developers have not shown the new homes are needed for the retention or improvement of local services, and that the proposal “has not been informed by an effective community involvement exercise”.

The planning committee meets at DDC’s Lodge Road offices in Daventry on Wednesday August 12 starting at 6.15pm.
