A VIVID and beautiful interpretation of the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty is waiting at Milton Keynes Theatre this week.
The classic story is brought to life through a mixture of ballet and mime on a stage bedecked with an intricate and detailed woodland scene.
Artistic Director Tomara Rojo faultlessly dances the lead role as princess Aurora capturing the hearts of the audience from her first solo.
Her stage presence and chemistry with fellow dancers gives the performance that extra level of excellence.
The show can be enjoyed by both young and old and would be a great introduction to ballet for first time attendees as the orchestra and animated acting from the dancers means the ballet is easy to follow and even easier to get drawn in to.
With whimsical appearances from Puss in Boots and Little Red Riding Hood at the end of the show the ballet goes above and beyond expectations by bringing humour to the stage,
There isn’t a bad word to say about the shows direction and choreography as the dancers appeared well rehearsed and beautifully presented. You can expect to have a wonderful night watching this performance from the English National Ballet.
