THERE will be plenty of rural fun on Saturday night at Byfield Village Club.
It will be hosting an onion night and cider festival starting at 6pm.
There will be prizes given out for the heaviest onion, the funniest looking vegetable and the best flower arrangement.
Produce from the onion night will be auctioned off in aid of the Katharine House Hospice.
Among the hopefuls looking to win is three-year-old Scarlett Bytyci, pictured above.
There will also be live music starting at 9pm featuring Dorset-based band The Skimmity Hitchers. The popular cider-drinking ensemble will be playing old-fashioned Scrumpy & Western live music with a modern edge.
A warm-up gig is also due to take place tomorrow (Friday) night at The Plume of Feathers in Weedon from 9pm.
