An award winning one woman show will be performed at West Haddon Village Hall on Friday night.

Ginny Davis, who has bought other shows to the village, will be bringing Double Booked to the village.

It tells the story of Ruth Rich who has hit the menopause. Colin Firth has disappeared from her dreams and eldest child, Laura, 21, is away at university.

She decides to settle down and join a book club. But as Ruth enters the sandwich years and worries over her mildly demented mother, her 15-year-old son Freddie’s detention, and 17-year-old daughter, Ellie, drinking and driving, she discovers it is not easy to please everyone.

Especially not the cosmetically enhanced but demanding and vacuous Timmy’s mother. So, does a little white lie get her out of trouble? Er, no. Not when everyone around her is being sparing with the truth too ....

She has won two Edinbrugh Fringe Festival sell out awards, the first for Ten Days... That Shook the Kitchen in 2008 and another for Double Booked in 2010. It is the third time she has appeared in the village having previously performed Ten Days...That Shook The Kitchen and Family Matters to the village hall.

It was the death of her father that led her to taking her first show to the Edinbrugh Fringe Festival and she has been in constant demand with shows ever since touring across the country.

One of the joys is she can take the show to all sorts of places with little effort.

Ginny added: “I can perform this show anywhere, even without a stage so it is perfect for smaller venues.”

Double Booked is a one -hour show and starts at 7.30pm. Tickets for the show cost £10 and can be booked by calling Ros on 01788 510099 or 07716 177945.
